An Old-Fashioned Tent Sale

Despite the latest advertising technology, nothing beats an old-fashioned tent sale. Just ask any Indianapolis-area automotive dealer. Tents have been used by auto dealers for decades to draw attention from drivers passing by. There's something about having tents set up on a car lot that makes people want to stop by and find a deal.

All Occasion Tent Rental has had the pleasure of serving several Central Indiana car dealers over the years. In fact, you've probably seen our tents at Fletcher Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Franklin, Ray Skillman Southside Auto Center in Greenwood, or Gates Chevrolet Buick GMC in Martinsville. We service dealers throughout Indianapolis, like Huber Chevrolet, and north of Indy, such as Tom Wood Nissan in Carmel.

Tents attract attention and attention attracts buyers. And while car dealers have known the secret of tent sales for years, All Occasion Tent Rental has worked with a variety of area companies to perform successful tent sales, everything from sporting goods retailers to shoe stores.

Planning a tent sale? Here are a few tips to get started:

  • Location, location, location! Tent sales rely on visibility to drive customers. Select a location for your sale that has high visibility from local streets. This could be parking lot or side yard to your brick and mortar. If your location doesn't have good visibility from the road, consider hosting your tent sale at another location.
  • Plan in advance. Order your tent early to reserve your preferred tent sizes and colors. Be sure to include tables in order to display your merchandise and set up a checkout area. You may need to obtain special permission from the property owner to install a tent. Check with your insurance to make sure your current coverage is adequate for the event. Call your local planning and zoning department to see if a permit is required.
  • Sidewalls and signage. Sidewalls for your tent are a great way to keep your inventory dry and can also be used to control the flow of customer traffic through the tent. Signage for the exterior of the tent helps to attract attention. Signage for the interior of the tent helps customers find merchandise, locate employees, and check out.
